Ischgl and Switzerland’s Samnaun constitute the only Swiss/Austrian transnational ski resort. The Swiss region of Samnaun is a duty-free shopping area (which means no queuing for tax refund at the airport). Ischgl boasts the world’s most advanced cable car system. The resort’s slopes have a total length of 238 km. There are 45 cable cars, and the maximum skiable elevation drop exceeds 1500 meters.
