This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage that may be involved when you use the Alps2Go website.
Essential site functions
The public pages can be browsed without creating an Alps2Go account. WordPress may use authentication and preference cookies for authorised editors who sign in to the administration area. Hosting and security systems may also use strictly necessary technical measures to deliver and protect the site.
External video and route embeds
Some pages include YouTube video or Strava route embeds. When an embed loads, your browser contacts that provider. It may receive your IP address and set or read cookies or similar identifiers under its own policy. The current homepage can load a YouTube background video automatically, so visiting that page may connect to YouTube without a separate click. Cycling route pages can load Strava content.
You can use browser controls to limit third-party cookies or avoid pages with embedded content. Blocking them may prevent videos or route maps from working.
Analytics and advertising
The bundled Alps2Go theme and core plugin do not include an analytics tag or advertising pixel. If these tools are added later, this policy and the site’s consent controls must be updated before they are enabled where consent is required.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you inspect, block or delete cookies in their privacy settings. Deleting necessary login cookies signs editors out. Browser settings may also affect embedded media. Contact [email protected] if you need information about a particular site feature.
