We still love the Alps. We are simply not stopping there.
The world of skiing is far larger than its familiar names. Greece alone has more than 20 ski areas, creating the unusual possibility of mountain turns in the morning and a sea breeze later in the day.
Catskiing in Kazakhstan, ski touring in Norway or heli-skiing in Greenland: every journey combines winter sports with a serious appreciation for local culture, language and, inevitably, food.
Places that rarely appear on a conventional ski shortlist can still deliver remarkable mountain days. Turkey, Spain and India can pair winter conditions with an atmosphere that makes the journey about much more than snow.
Three ways farther
The mountain decides how we enter.
The access method is not a thrill added to the itinerary. It is chosen because it fits the landscape, local operation and objectives of that journey.
01 · Catskiing
Kazakhstan
Snowcat access opens broad mountain terrain while a Central Asian setting changes everything beyond the ski day.
02 · Ski touring
Norway
Human-powered days connect snow-covered mountains with fjord landscapes and a slower sense of discovery.
03 · Heli-skiing
Greenland
Aircraft access can reach remote Arctic terrain where weather, logistics and local expertise remain decisive.
“
The skiing may start the conversation. Culture, language and dinner are often what make the journey unforgettable. Yes, yakiniku—we are talking about you.
Winter travel should still taste like the place
Trip style
Exploration needs more preparation, not less.
Remote and unconventional ski journeys depend on the right match between destination, access, group ability and local operations. Each part is considered before the itinerary takes shape.
01 · Place
Start with curiosity
Look beyond famous resorts for a destination where winter and culture create a compelling whole.
02 · Access
Match the mountain
Catskiing, touring, lifts or aircraft access must suit the terrain and the purpose of the journey.
03 · Preparation
Plan the real details
Travel documents, equipment, fitness, insurance and local logistics are confirmed for the destination.
04 · On location
Stay adaptable
Weather and local conditions can reshape the day without changing the spirit of the trip.
Who it suits
For travellers who are skiers—not only skiers who travel.
These journeys ask for openness to unfamiliar logistics, food, language and daily rhythms. Ski ability matters, but curiosity matters just as much.
Inclusions vary significantly by destination and access method. Accommodation, transfers, local operators, ski access and any specialist services are listed clearly in the proposal for each departure.
How strong does my skiing need to be?
The required ability, fitness and experience depend on the journey. Ski touring, catskiing and heli-skiing have different demands, so every departure has its own participation criteria.
Is specialist equipment required?
Often, yes. Touring equipment or avalanche-safety equipment may be required depending on the terrain. The final equipment list and rental options are confirmed before travel.
Can the itinerary change?
Yes. Weather, snow stability, transport and local operations may change the daily plan or access method. Safety and the quality of the overall journey take priority.
What travel documents and insurance do I need?
Requirements depend on nationality, destination and activity. Guests are responsible for valid travel documents and appropriate insurance; journey-specific guidance is provided before departure.
Is good snow guaranteed?
No. Unconventional destinations can produce excellent conditions, but snowfall and snow quality cannot be guaranteed. Dates and daily decisions are planned around the strongest available information.
